What is a "BOP"? I actually updated the dead link the video description. There are the downloads to the actual season. The cars' and drivers performance has been altered so that the McLaren is the fastest car and Senna / Prost are the best drivers, etc.

Why do you write something like that? I have not disabled anything. You can clearly see at for example at 34:03 that a turret from the red bunker killed my ship. The fire of those red bunkers are probably the least of the problems in this game. The bunkers fire from a certain angle and their burst fire is quite easy to avoid by approaching them from the right angle and using the shield/tractor. You learn these angles by playing more. This video has been online for what... 10 years. You're the first one EVER who thinks I "cheated". Amazing.

@@detonator2112 I'm so sorry! I watched in on my phone (Google Pixel 3) on bad intenet at 480p and the turrets' red bullets were all invisible even zoomed in. At home on my phone I had to zoom in to see them, and they're a very dim red unlike the bright dots in the arcade. Must be some weird Google compression artifact and/or the videogame emulator and/or its video capture has very dim red. Now I'm really impressed.

Yes. Amazing "eye" there. Lehtinen was pretty good player too. He was always very underrated, played well defensively too. Sure he won Selkes but the hockey media never gave him enough credit.

Thanks. I always thought this game was way ahead of its time. It had certain learning curve but when you master the 5-button control system, it's not that difficult at all. Actually it's the most logical finesse control system that you can think of. It's absolutely REQUIRED to play this with a keyboard. I use Z-X (rotate left/right), SPACEBAR (Shield/Tractor Fuel), - for thrust and RIGHT SHIFT for fire. Actually a lot of kids in my local arcade mastered this game. Only one was able to complete it, most were stuck to the invisible levels (that "snake" planet was challenging. Of course people who were familiar with Asteroids learned it faster. Back then games like Pac-Man and Space Invaders didn't have such depth and people didn't have the patience. They were relatively easy to get into... Gravitar required some extra effort. Cheers.

@detonator2112 thanks I will have a look again I'm new to this sim on pc only just got a new pc normally play on ps4 and5.im 66 and struggle to understand how to add on downloads..First gotvinto racing sims in the 1980s with revs on a bbc basis then grand prix in the 90s on pc i loved that game.for years I have played assetto ,dirt rally f1 etc I love these sims .I have just got 1975 carset for asetto and will buy carsets from the 70s to early 90s.would love to add extra good tracks but don't yet know how to download Thanks again Davie

I agree. My favorite era in F1 too. Late 90's with Hakkinen vs Schumacher was pretty cool too. But Senna vs Prost definitely the most legendary rivalry. 1985-1986 was probably the most competitive though. 1985 alone had seven past or future world champions on the grid. Senna, Prost, K.Rosberg, Jones, Piquet, Mansell, Lauda. And on top of that very solid drivers like De Angelis, Berger, Arnoux, Laffite who could all win a race in their good day.

Indeed. Much nicer rivalry than Senna vs Prost because Hakkinen vs Schumacher never got dirty. Those guys raced against eachother from like 7-year olds and had a mutual respect to eachother. Great times in F1. Enjoy the season mate.

Yes it was quite a season. McLaren was the best car but Hammy and Alonso took points from eachother and Kimi was able to steal the championship. Well deserved though as he was a BEAST at McLaren 2003 and 2005 and lost the titles only because of bad reliability. Great times in F1.

There was a myth about this game that when you drive the tank long enough you'll arrive at the volcano. Nice story but unfortunately not true.

Actually it's not that hard at all. You only have to master the controls. If you're familiar with Asteroids and Space Duel, it doesn't take that long. On computer keyboard you can map them like z=rotate left, x=rotate right, SPACEBAR = shield / tracktor, - = thrust RIGHT SHIFT = Fire. There's no way to play this game with a controller, it's 100% keys game just like the original. Cheers.

In this video I complete the invisible/reverse gravity (all 4 universes). It takes a little over an hour only.

@@detonator2112 yes but in the arcade I use to leave one gun turret in each world and then complete a world. The gun turrets would then reappear then I would do the same and repeat in every universe I think my high score was over 3 million. This is why it would take 2 hours and I would miss my tea. Happy days.

@@thomasscullion5812 Oh yeah that tactics. I know... I have used it too. It depends on the dip switches how severe the fuel consumption was. Actually I used it in the invisible levels in this video too (if I remember correctly). That "star" planet was rather easy in invisible and always filled the fuel there.

I have the 1982 mod with these same specs coming. I have removed the turbo from all Cosworth cars. I also made AI engine failures but that creates some problems when DNF'd cars leave on the track and create traffic/crash issues. Still trying to figure out how to execute the 1982 realistically because there were so many DNF's for Brabham and Renault and Rosberg won the title with way underpowered (but reliable) Cosworth car. I’ve been trying to adjust my SDD 82, 84 and 86 cars to be more realistic as well but it’s a pain. I’m glad someone else is putting in the effort though and posting it! I wish SDD’s cars were of higher quality from the start however.

@@indy1530 The SDD cars physics have been taken from Kunos Lotus98T and they drive fine. They were just uncompetive in their vanilla form. I have 1982 adjustments too but haven't released them yet and they have major issues with some tracks like vintage Zandvoort. Cheers.

Thanks man. I will do the changes for Fabi/Toleman. Actually the cars that I used have folders 1 and 2 for the skins. I can send you the cars if you want. I will make a proper championship for this year too (with mandatory pitstops eventually). People always complain about SimDream cars but I like how these cars drive though. You just have to remove the race tyre models from 1982, 1983 and 1984. Otherwise they're not competitive. I think the 1988 cars were fast. It's been a while since I played this year.
